The Waiting Game
October Hiccups
So here we are in October. Our baby #4 is in China and we are waiting. It feels strangely similar to the waiting game of being pregnant ; where the anticipation of something great and the unknown of all things new are mixed together in a bag of life. So to date, we have submitted all of our paperwork (except pictures and course work) to our agency and are waiting for them to process it and then send it all off to the Chinese Consulate to be processed...Our agency is giving us a timeframe of 6 to 8 weeks and then the time the Consulate takes to process is roughly the same...unfortunately, that puts this Mama's due date somewhere in February. What a great birthday present that would be for me, to bring home our baby somewhere near my birthday! Of course, we'd love to bring him home sooner but God holds time in his hands. So we will patiently wait.
School has started and we are currently in our 5th, 5th week of homeschooling our big kids this year. This is our second year of homeschooling and it's a much smoother process this year. We've changed a few things and adapted our curriculum to better fit my teaching and their learning styles and it seems to be just what we needed. We run on a 4 day school week, which leaves Friday's free for what we like to call a "home economics" day. Our youngest is attending our local Christian school and she's loving it. Why are we not homeschooling her, you may ask? Well, how can you argue with a 5 year old who decides to goto school because they sing and talk about Jesus? My heart is full. She is a hoot. Not to mention she has looked forward to this year of kindergarten just as soon as we dropped her brother off on his first day, 4 years ago. Meanwhile, fall sports and music lessons are in full swing and both Jonathan and I feel like we have come into the first season of many for our chauffeur service.
Cheers until next time,
Christy
